About this event
Gentle Hands: An Introduction to Craniosacral Work
For moms, birthworkers, and anyone curious about the art of light touch
Have you ever noticed how a calm, steady hand can settle a fussy baby, or how a quiet presence can shift the whole feeling of a room?
Craniosacral work is built on that kind of attentive, gentle touch.
In this welcoming introductory class, we’ll explore the craniosacral system: the membranes and fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord, from the skull (cranium) down to the base of the spine (sacrum). You’ll learn how practitioners think about this system, what they’re paying attention to, and why the work is so soft and unhurried.
Then we’ll get hands-on. You’ll practice a few simple, foundational skills, including:
• How to settle your own body and attention before offering touch
• Light-touch “listening” holds at the head, sacrum, and feet
• Ways to bring this calm, grounded presence into everyday care for yourself, your little ones, or the families you support
• 2 techniques to use in every day life
• Intro to Still Point Inducer
No experience is needed. This class is ideal for parents, doulas, midwives, lactation consultants, massage therapists, and anyone drawn to gentle, body-based ways of connecting and caring.
Come curious, wear comfortable clothes, and leave with a deeper sense of how much can happen through a quiet, attentive touch.
