About this event

Join the Cumberland River Compact for a litter cleanup along Sevenmile Creek in South Nashville! Volunteers will remove litter and debris from the creek and its banks, improving the health of a vital Cumberland River tributary in a highly urbanized area.

This section of Sevenmile Creek runs through an area of land affected by frequent flooding. Litter carried by stormwater collects throughout the property, especially when the creek rises during heavy rain. This means that regular cleanups are important for keeping the area clean– and protecting the health of waterways downstream.

Sevenmile Creek flows into Mill Creek before entering the Cumberland River, so removing litter here helps prevent pollution from traveling farther downstream. By volunteering, you’ll help protect water quality, improve wildlife habitat, and preserve Nashville’s waterways for future generations.
