- ➤ On Saturday, SRO Ali Albouhamed received the Jerry Anderson Hero Award at the MLK Jr. Breakfast at MTSU from the Murfreesboro NAACP for restraining a student from jumping over a rail. The award honors NFL player Jerry Anderson’s legacy. Rutherford County Source
- ➤ Four Murfreesboro Fire Rescue firefighters were honored on Saturday at a breakfast at Middle Tennessee State University for rescuing an elderly man from a house fire on East Burton Street on Aug. 12.
