  • Murfreesboro Police Officer Dustin Nicholson earned a STARS award on Thursday (Jan. 22) for talking a woman off the I‑24 bridge in December, and he received a Jerry Anderson Hero Award on Saturday for his courage as a School Resource Officer.  WGNS

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Rutherford County Schools will be closed Monday and Tuesday (Jan. 26-27) due to snow, ice, and low temperatures. Highway crews in Murfreesboro and the county warn residents to avoid driving as teams work to clear dangerous roads.  The Daily News Journal
