- ➤ Four Murfreesboro Fire Rescue firefighters were honored with the NAACP Jerry Anderson Hero Award at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast on Saturday, Jan. 17 at Middle Tennessee State University. - ➤ Middle Tennessee State University will lead a yearlong celebration of America’s 250th anniversary starting Monday, Feb. 2 on campus, backed by a $25,000 National Endowment for the Humanities grant + the project will feature lectures, public readings, and museum exhibitions to spark civic dialogue.
