SRO Ali Albouhamed from the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office (honored for action) was named SRO of the Month for February by the National Association of School Resource Officers for restraining a student at Stewarts Creek High School in November.

His decisive teamwork kept the student safe until additional help arrived.

Retired District Attorney Bill Whitesell — who led Murfreesboro’s DA for 34 years — reflected on his career and founding the Child Advocacy Center in 2000, which has aided 21,000 children.
