  • Lanes, Trains and Automobiles will close its Murfreesboro location this spring because the property was sold to a new owner. The family center has entertained locals for 15+ years and will keep normal hours until its final day on April 4.  WGNS
  • Panera introduced its new Mix and Match value menu on Feb. 25 — offering 10 options at $4.99 each with a minimum purchase of two items. Murfreesboro residents can now order at one of the three local branches.  The Daily News Journal
  • Applebee's announced that restaurant closures will take place in Missouri, Indiana and New York in 2026, although all 28 Tennessee locations will remain open to serve neighborhoods.  The Daily News Journal

  • At MTSU, the Board of Trustees advanced plans for two new master’s programs: one in Health Care Administration awaiting THEC approval + a Master of Fine Arts in Film and Television launching fall 2026.   • Liberty Creek Middle School cheerleaders made history by winning first place in two UCA divisions at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla, following an undefeated season. SPORTS NEWS

  • Rockvale’s Rockets won 14-0 over Oakland in their flag football opener on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at Ray Hughes Stadium. The defense intercepted four passes (including Aubrey Williams's 15-yard return touchdown) to secure the win.  Murfreesboro Post
  • Middle Tennessee (14-14) knocked off UTEP (10-18) 77-67 at Murphy Center Thursday night as Torey Alston posted a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. The Blue Raiders will face New Mexico State on Saturday at noon.  Murfreesboro Post
  • Middle Tennessee softball will kick off the Blue Raider Classic today at Blue Raider Softball Field by hosting Akron University at 11 a.m. CDT and UT Martin at 2 p.m. CDT for its first home opener of the season.  MTSU Sidelines
