  • Holly Nichols, named this week’s My Hero, is honored for fostering and adopting children across Middle Tennessee. Bart Durham Injury Law will donate $250 to Tennessee CASA, the charity she supports.  NewsChannel 5

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Rutherford County Schools are working to fill 12 open bus routes after a contractor was removed for an insurance lapse. Officials sent an all-call to current contractors and will hold a drawing Monday while school board members postpone the bus purchase discussion until a special meeting next Thursday.  FOX 17

HEALTH NEWS

  • AccuWeather forecasts that tree pollen levels will remain high through mid-April with grass pollen near average while weed pollen is expected to surge later in the season. Area residents are advised to limit outdoor exposure and keep windows closed as allergy season begins.  The Daily News Journal

  • MTSU club hockey defeated Vanderbilt on March 4 at Bridgestone Arena — strong play helped the Blue Raiders secure a memorable win in the contest.  MTSU Sidelines
  • MTSU (Lady Raiders) lost to FIU in a double overtime game at the Murphy Center on March 5. This loss put them in a three-way tie for third in Conference USA, and a regular season finale against Missouri State Saturday will determine their tournament seed.  MTSU Sidelines
  • Nashville-area coach Marty Euverard was named the new head football coach at Providence Christian Academy on March 5 at 7:30 a.m., replacing Lebron Ferguson after winning two state titles at Oakland and MBA.  The Daily News Journal
  • Liverpool FC and Sunderland AFC will face off in a friendly at GEODIS Park on Saturday, July 25 for TEG Sport's 2026 Summer Soccer Series.   • Riverdale head coach Michael Voss stepped down after 11 seasons to focus on his family and take on a new role supporting the school’s athletic programs. The search for a new head coach is set to begin soon — officials confirmed.  WGNS
