MTSU’s Center for Historic Preservation is working with Vincent Windrow and the Friends of Cemetery School to restore an old segregated school in Murfreesboro as a museum and community center planned to open in summer 2026 — the project will preserve classroom artifacts and offer local students hands-on history lessons. Graduate students will also use the site for practical field experience in historic preservation.
