ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Rutherford County Fire & Rescue and the Fire Marshal's Office reported that a fire at a Halls Hill Pike home started on Friday evening when an unattended fire pit caused a hot tub and nearby vegetation to catch fire as strong winds spread the flames, and officials warn residents to handle open burning with care. - ➤ A section of Barfield Rd at Shalom St is closed due to flooding and residents are advised to use Cason Trail while MFRD rescued four people from a vehicle that drove into the flooded roadway with no reported injuries — the rescue occurred earlier today. WGNS
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department will offer a free CPR class on May 31 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Airport Business Center—1930 Memorial Blvd—with lessons on CPR for all ages, AED use and choking relief. Registration is required because space is limited. The Daily News Journal
- ➤ Blood Assurance has issued an urgent call for O-negative blood donors after its supply dropped to less than a half-day's worth amid low turnout for Spring Break. The organization offers urgent incentives including a limited-edition (Shenanigans and Saving Lives) t-shirt and a $25 e-gift card for qualified donations. FOX 17
