- ➤ Rutherford County Schools Director Jimmy Sullivan has asked for $138 million in funding to build a new high school for the growing district. Officials said the plan is under review and could support future enrollment. The Daily News Journal

- ➤ Rutherford County Zetas will host The Sophisticated Blue Crown Maternal and Infant Wellness Celebration on Saturday, Apr. 18 at 2:30 p.m. at 1004 N. Highland Ave to support mothers, protect infants, and provide essential baby items for two expectant mothers; interested attendees should RSVP and submit applications by April 1. - ➤ Ascension Saint Thomas received state approval to build a $19 million freestanding emergency department at Murfreesboro Medical Clinic near Lascassas Pike + East Pitts Lane that will offer 24/7 care. - ➤ The health department released inspection scores for food service establishments in Rutherford County from March 18 to 25. It reminds restaurants to display their latest score reports (available for public review at county offices) to ensure food safety. Rutherford County Source
