  • Students at Middle Tennessee State University are taking part in a Game of Life event during Financial Literacy Month to learn budgeting skills for their future.   • Rutherford County Schools named Jason Crutchfield the new principal of Rockvale Elementary School; Crutchfield, who helped open Rockvale High as assistant principal in 2019 and worked at Smyrna Middle School, will begin his duties as the school year concludes.  WGNS

  • Tennessee officials announced Operation Robocall Roundup to crack down on telecom companies failing to prevent scam calls affecting Rutherford County residents (including Murfreesboro). The move is part of a nationwide effort by state attorneys general that warns nearly 100 additional providers to meet federal rules.  WGNS
  • Fire leaders sharpened their skills during a full day of regional training at La Vergne Fire Rescue Station 41 last week (organized by the Middle Tennessee Association of Fire Chiefs) to build command skills and interagency rapport. About 60 participants from Murfreesboro, Smyrna, and Brentwood attended.  WGNS
