  • On April 16th, MTSU hosted actress Leigh-Allyn Baker from Turning Point USA — she explained how her refusal to follow government health rules led to her being canceled and shared that her children had serious reactions to vaccines, which changed her view on medical mandates.  MTSU Sidelines

EDUCATION NEWS

  • MTSU’s Army ROTC celebrated its 75th anniversary on campus with over 150 people, including 92-year-old retired Army Col. Charles Loyd — the oldest living ROTC alumnus — honored at a Veterans Memorial event. The campus will host a drug take-back event on April 23rd from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Health, Wellness and Recreation Center parking lot so unwanted prescriptions and vaping devices can be safely disposed.  The Daily News Journal

  • Middle Tennessee Electric will host the 24th Annual Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Murfreesboro’s historic downtown square. Families will enjoy free educational booths, live entertainment, activities, and giveaways, and if it rains the event will move to Sports—Com at 2310 Memorial Blvd.  Rutherford County Source

  • The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service warned consumers that pork carnitas sold at Aldi may contain pieces of metal — equipment damage at Cargill Meat Solutions may have caused the issue.
