  • Today the Child Advocacy Center of Rutherford County celebrates 25 years of providing a safe space for children facing abuse and training for adults to protect kids. Founded in 2000 with a small team and limited budget, it has grown to two facilities and 13 employees—serving nearly 50,000 people over its history.  WGNS

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Rutherford County recorded a 2.7% unemployment rate in March and ranked third among Tennessee counties as Murfreesboro had a 2.8% rate and Smyrna 2.6%—figures that compared favorably to the state’s 3.6% average. The solid numbers highlight stable economic conditions across the region.  WGNS

EDUCATION NEWS

  • MTSU hosted its first Tech Vision conference on AI and evolving technology at the Miller Education Center on Bell Street, drawing more than 200 students, faculty, and industry experts. Keynote speaker Josh Byrd said AI will help workers work smarter and co-organizer Sam Zaza noted the event is just the beginning as MTSU plans to expand the discussion at next year’s conference on April 9-10.  The Daily News Journal
