- ➤ State lawmakers passed the HOPE Act allowing FDA-approved clinical trials of ibogaine (a Schedule I drug similar to LSD) in Tennessee. Universities will soon submit proposals to study its potential in treating opioid addiction, depression, and PTSD in veterans. FOX 17

- ➤ Columbia Academy’s baseball team won a 6-2 tournament game on Saturday against Goodpasture, with Gunner Skelton & Jax Jones leading the scoring to boost their postseason record. They will face the winner of Monday's elimination game in the region semifinals. Murfreesboro Post
- ➤ Blackman's baseball team won the District 9-4A tournament Friday night by defeating Smyrna 11-1 in five innings at Blackman (both teams will play in the Region 5-4A tournament later this week). Murfreesboro Post
- ➤ Four Rutherford County high school boys' basketball players were named to the TSWA All-State teams on April 28; Blackman's Jayln McDonald earned Class 4A honors, Eagleville's Camden Cole reached Class 1A, and PCA's Chris Washington Jr. and Nick Anderson were selected for Division II-A honors. - ➤ Siegel baseball won the District 10-4A championship game over Riverdale yesterday with a 3-0 win in a tournament that concluded May 2. The Daily News Journal
- ➤ Siegel pitcher Adrian Gomez tossed a two-hitter on Saturday afternoon to secure a 3-0 win over Riverdale for the District 10-4A tournament title. Riverdale will face Blackman and Smyrna will play Siegel in the Region 5-4A Tournament on Friday, May 8. Murfreesboro Post
- ➤ Rutherford County sports competitions showcased many local high school wins in baseball, softball, soccer, tennis, flag football & track field. David Collins of Siegel qualified for the decathlon at Hardin Valley Academy on May 13 to 14, while district tournaments featured standout victories by Blackman, Siegel and other teams.
