  • After library changes moved children’s books to adult sections, a local resident launched BurrowBandBooks.com while Murfreesboro prepares to welcome American Idol finalist Jordan McCullough with a downtown parade & concert; city leaders will hold a public hearing on the Stones Battle Parkway Corridor as part of the 2050 transportation plan.  WGNS

  • On April 11, MTSU students in Murfreesboro earned top honors at the Tennessee Japanese Video Skit and Presentation Contest during the Nashville Cherry Blossom Festival.   • Parents of children with disabilities are reacting to a new state law that stops ABLE transfers on IEA vouchers, limiting funds for tutors, therapies, and other supports.   • MTSU's former equestrian coach Anne Brzezicki was inducted into the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Hall of Fame this weekend for 54 years of service to college horse riding + expanding competitive programs.   • MTSU held its biannual Drug-Vape Take-Back event outside Health, Wellness and Recreation Center, collecting over 80 pounds of unwanted medications and vape products (including nearly 77 pounds of medication and 136 vapes) to ensure safe disposal and protect the local environment.  WGNS
