  • On May 7, the council approved the sale of 8.62 acres at Medical Center Parkway & Gateway Boulevard for a new event center and restaurant from local restaurateurs Shawn and Christy Hackinson, which will host 650 guests and is projected to add $12 million in tax revenue over 20 years.  WGNS

  • TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center in Smyrna earned its sixth straight A safety grade according to the Leapfrog Group's spring 2026 ratings — a distinction held by only 15 percent of hospitals. CEO Ryan LeMasters said local residents rely on the hospital's trusted staff.  WGNS
