Main Street Murfreesboro will host a Summer Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest on June 14 at Murfreesboro Public Square — the free event is open to all ages and will begin drawing at 7:30 a.m. with judging at 11:00 a.m.; participants must bring washable chalk, and winners in the Early Youth, Older Youth, and Amateur Adult categories will receive local gift cards.

Every week during the school year, Murfreesboro City Schools provides extra food bags with snacks, drinks, and entrees for 700 students to take home for the weekend.
