- ➤ The Alley on Main owners plan to build a new 80-seat restaurant and two wedding venues on government land off Medical Center Parkway and Gateway Boulevard. The project, featuring pizza and green space, is expected to generate nearly $6.5 million over 20 years. The Daily News Journal

- ➤ Third grade reading scores were released on May 18, starting a fast timeline for retests and appeals to help students advance to fourth grade.
