- ➤ Various Fourth of July celebrations will light up Middle Tennessee this summer; Murfreesboro's Celebration Under the Stars on July 4 will feature food trucks, music, and fireworks while Nashville, Smyrna, Mount Juliet, Hendersonville and Franklin host family-friendly events with live entertainment and vendors. - ➤ Boro Beach at SportsCom opens for the season today with hours on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Memorial Day will feature games, contests, limbo and the annual belly flop contest. Murfreesboro.com

- ➤ MTSU renewed its longstanding partnership with the Middle Tennessee Council of Scouting America at a campus ceremony. The renewed collaboration will offer Scouts campus events and mentorship opportunities (a program that began in 2018 to build future community leaders). Rutherford County Source
- ➤ MTSU and Middle Tennessee Electric signed an MOU on May 19 at the Bell Street Building to launch a quantum computing research program that will prepare local students to use next-generation technology. The collaboration will develop a quantum testbed linking two Murfreesboro locations and invite additional partners. The Daily News Journal
- ➤ Discovery School third graders and Murfreesboro Transit installed Little Free Libraries at the Transit Center + at bus shelters on Memorial and Innsbrooke Boulevards on May 19, boosting literacy and community collaboration. Rutherford County Source
- ➤ School Resource Officers Kayte Cherry and Chad Dodson — from the county team — joined the WGNS Action Line podcast to explain how local youth face digital safety issues and stress while moving to middle school.
