  • UT/TSU Extension in Rutherford County advises families to reduce indoor air risks — such as mold, tobacco smoke, dust mites, and VOCs — by improving home ventilation and using low-VOC products to protect vulnerable children.  The Daily News Journal

  • On Friday, Richland baseball beat four-time defending champion Eagleville 11-6 in the Class 1A state championship in Murfreesboro — marking the Raiders’ first title win this spring.  Murfreesboro Post
  • Former Tennessee quarterback Tee Martin joined LSU's staff as an offensive analyst after a phone call with Lane Kiffin and changed his year-off plans. He visited Knoxville on May 23 to sign autographs for fans, and his son Kaden will join LSU as a quarterback transfer from MTSU this season.  The Daily News Journal
  • Due to continuous rain, TSSAA shifted the softball state championship game times set for May 23 — the Class 3A game now starts at 12:30 p.m. at Riverdale High and the 4A at 3 p.m., while the Class 2A game remains at 12:30 p.m. at Shelbyville Central High.  The Daily News Journal
  • Stewarts Creek and Eagleville High Schools won the 2026 TSSAA State Softball Championships Saturday in Shelbyville (after a weather-related schedule change); the Red Hawks earned their first title while the Lady Eagles clinched their third crown with a tight win of 2 to 1.  WGNS
