Thor Rankin, owner of Thor’s Furniture at the intersection of Memorial Blvd and Medical Center Parkway, shared his nearly 40-year story of keeping a unique shop that features antique train models, rocking chairs, and a small music zone.

He said his store is known for its local charm and has a big show planned on August 8 — his way of showing that doing what you love makes a business work.

Middle Tennessee State University’s Concrete Industry Management program hosted over 320 middle and high school girls at its second annual Ladies in Concrete Workshop—students learned about career options in the concrete industry through hands-on workstations led by industry alumni and local partners. Representatives from the Tennessee Department of Treasury Unclaimed Property Division are traveling to events to help Tennesseans check if they are owed missing money.

They will be at the Berry Festival in Murfreesboro on July 19 & at other state events where people can get help filing claims.
