CRIME NEWS

  • Tyler Hudson, 21, was arrested on South Rutherford Blvd on Friday after he broke into an apartment on Saint Andrews Drive, stole a car and led deputies on a high-speed chase that ended in a crash at John Bragg Highway and S. Rutherford Blvd.—he faces charges including aggravated burglary, motor vehicle theft, evading arrest and a parole violation with a hearing set for July 14th.  City of Murfreesboro
  • A 21-year-old man was arrested on Friday, May 23 after he allegedly broke into an apartment in Murfreesboro, stole a car, and led police on a high-speed chase across county lines that ended in a crash near Louise Street—he now faces charges including aggravated burglary, motor vehicle theft, evading arrest, and a parole violation.  WGNS
  • Murfreesboro police investigated a series of vehicle break-ins that occurred Monday afternoon at the Fountains at Gateway, Manson Pike Trailhead, and the pickleball courts on Golf Lane—thieves targeted vehicles while residents shopped and dined, and suspects were last seen in a silver Hyundai SUV with Tennessee license plate BFB0638.  WGNS

  • Charles Bennett’s Civil War reenactment will take place on Saturday, June 7th from 1 – 3:30 p.m. at Stones River National Battlefield in Murfreesboro; the event will feature programs at 1, 2 and 3 p.m. with musket firing demonstrations that recount local Civil War experiences.  Rutherford County Source

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Murfreesboro road projects set from May 25th through May 31st will cause lane closures and shifts as contractors work on Joe B Jackson Pkwy, intersections along Manson Pike, underground installations on E Castle St, fiber upgrades, and street resurfacing across several state routes. Drivers are urged to use alternate routes and follow posted traffic controls as private developers, city crews, and state agencies complete the work.  Murfreesboro.com
