- ➤ Rutherford County Board of Education seeks to purchase farmland on Blackman Road for Poplar Hill High School—a new campus planned for west Murfreesboro that will serve the local community once the land is secured. The Daily News Journal
- ➤ Rockvale High School principal Steve Luker retired after 33 years, with Dr. Megan Turnbow succeeding him — Rockvale Elementary and McFadden School of Excellence named new leaders. Smyrna honored Capt. Jeff Kuss with a documentary, while Middle Tennessee Christian School named a new volleyball coach and Riverdale High’s Barry Messer retired. WGNS

- ➤ MTSU’s Center for Health and Human Services got a $225K grant from the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development to fill rural healthcare gaps by offering student training and launching a workforce certificate. - ➤ State officials honored Rutherford County EMS workers today for saving lives during a 2025 motor vehicle collision and a childbirth emergency, awarding teams for rapid response + expert care. WGNS
- ➤ During the busy season, Blood Assurance is urging donors to give blood, platelets and plasma to help local hospitals avoid shortages during the 100 Deadliest Days of Summer.
