- ➤ Today, the Tennessee Valley Lineman Rodeo opened at 1:30 p.m. at Williamson Family Farm (3250 Wilkinson Pike) in Murfreesboro where linemen from local utilities compete in categories such as apprentices, journeymen teams, individual linemen and senior competitors. The free event will showcase technical skill and safety practices while drawing local families and industry supporters for a weekend of community celebration. WGNS

- ➤ A serious three-vehicle crash on Lascassas Pike near Bradley Creek Road injured five people yesterday morning and closed the road until at least noon — emergency crews extricated patients and drivers were rerouted via Cainsville Pike and Bradley Creek Road. Rutherford County Source
- ➤ A three-vehicle crash occurred on Lascassas Pike near Bradley Creek Road in Milton on Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m., injuring five people & prompting deputies to reroute traffic while the Tennessee Highway Patrol investigates. WGNS

- ➤ Tennesseans for Student Success has launched the annual Tristar Reads contest for students in grades K-12 to read for at least 20 minutes a day from May 27 to August 4—scholarships will be awarded at the end of the summer based on reading hours and school level. Partners Atmos Energy and Vooks are also providing digital books to help students keep their reading skills sharp. Murfreesboro Post
- ➤ Abigail Whicker, the Mt. Juliet Christian Academy valedictorian with a 4.0 GPA and strong scholarship support, will study agribusiness and organizational communications at MTSU this fall.
