- ➤ Middle Tennessee Electric hosted the Tennessee Valley Lineman Rodeo at Williamson Family Farm in Murfreesboro on May 30—31 and its linemen earned 17 awards as nearly 250 lineworkers competed in safety and technical contests. The event began with a charity golf tournament on May 29 that raised $6,865 for Line Brother’s Keeper— a nonprofit supporting fallen and injured lineworkers and their families. WGNS

- ➤ Local deputies are searching for a zebra that escaped from its owner over the weekend and was reported missing after being brought home Friday night. The animal was seen trotting along Epps Mill Road and on Interstate 24 where deputies temporarily shut down lanes—protecting motorists—and later ran into a wooded area after its owner tried to recapture it. - ➤ Local pastor Benjamin Garlick, 33, faces 16 felony charges for alleged child sexual abuse while his estranged wife faces 4 counts after both were taken into custody in September 2023; their trial will begin Monday, July 28 at 9:00 a.m. with testimony from detectives + child protection staff.
