- ➤ TBI agents arrested Quinn Rodriguez, a Rutherford County assistant district attorney, on Tuesday after an investigation found he hit a woman and waved a gun at her—charging him with two counts of domestic assault and two counts of aggravated assault while booking him on a $10,000 bond. FOX 17

- ➤ MTSU won national recognition for its archaeology awareness poster after earning top honors in the 2025 contest held by the Society for American Archaeology. The project was led by Paul Eubanks & Noel Lorson and featured Pinson Mounds to highlight Tennessee's archaeological legacy. WGNS

- ➤ MTSU’s Board of Trustees Finance and Personnel Committee proposed a $97.50 fee increase on May 20 to help fund Athletics and make the Murphy Center ADA compliant—student leaders said they were not consulted and the board will vote on the proposal June 17. - ➤ Nine graduating senior cadets from MTSU's Military Science program were commissioned as U.S. Army second lieutenants in a ceremony at Keathley University Theater, where Army Lt. Col. - ➤ Murfreesboro has launched a Legacy Recognition Program to honor retired city employees who served at least 20 consecutive years or 30 combined years, and residents may nominate candidates until August 1; up to six honorees will be inducted as City Legacies at a ceremony held at City Hall’s Rotunda—where their contributions will be displayed. - ➤ Governor Bill Lee signed Senate Bill 741 on June 3 to criminalize the use of AI for creating child sexual abuse images. The law will take effect July 1—making possession a felony to protect children from exploitation. WGNS
