- ➤ Murfreesboro Police used its Real Time Crime Center to arrest 20-year-old Kevin Hatter and two teenagers on June 22 after a blue Volkswagen was linked to a drive‐by shooting at Abbington Apartments that hit two units without injuring anyone—Hatter now faces charges for reckless endangerment, vandalism, and possession of an altered tag. - ➤ Murfreesboro officials are reminding residents ahead of the Fourth of July that fireworks may only be discharged on July 3rd, 4th, and 5th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. —they also clarified that fireworks are permitted on December 31 and January 1 only during specific hours and that banned items like bottle rockets, reloadable fireworks, and large mortar tubes, along with strict age restrictions, will result in fines or confiscation.
