  • Murfreesboro Fire-Rescue crews responded Tuesday to a New Salem Highway construction site after a dump truck exploded and was engulfed in flames—firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control with no injuries and traffic remaining unaffected while the Fire Marshal’s office investigates the cause amid road widening work.  WGNS

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • After the April storms, the Department of Revenue announced a disaster sales tax relief program for Tennessee storm survivors who received FEMA help to repair, replace, or rebuild their homes. The program offered a refund of up to $2,500 on sales tax for eligible items—such as major appliances, furniture, and building supplies.  FOX 17
