- ➤ Murfreesboro police arrested six individuals after drive-by and retaliatory shootings that began on Sunday, June 22 at Abbington Apartments when a blue Volkswagen fired at nearby homes and escalated with a Monday night shooting at Green Meadows Apartments on Warrior Drive that injured an 11-year-old girl+suspects are now facing charges from reckless endangerment to attempted first-degree murder, with one still at large. - ➤ Tennessee residents will have a tax-free weekend from July 25 to July 27—clothing, school supplies and computers under $100 will not include the 7% state sales tax while grocery items will remain taxed since the state did not budget for a grocery holiday this year. The Daily News Journal

- ➤ Middle Tennessee State University has installed a 32-channel API Legacy AXS analog console in Studio B to replace a two-decade-old system and give students real-world training—local engineers and faculty worked together on the installation.
