  • Communities across Rutherford County are preparing for Independence Day festivities with live music, food trucks, splash pads, and fireworks. Murfreesboro will host its Celebration Under the Stars at The Fountains on July 4 starting at 4:30 p.m.—while Smyrna and La Vergne mark their events on July 3 and 4 with local park festivities, residents are advised to bring seating and arrive early for prime viewing spots.  WGNS

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A 51-year-old Murfreesboro woman died after her car was hit from behind in a four-vehicle crash at 4 a.m. Sunday on I-24 East near Bell Road — 28-year-old John Baudendistel, who admitted drinking, was charged with vehicular homicide by intoxication while investigators continue seeking the hit-and-run drivers.  FOX 17
