- ➤ Rutherford County Sheriff’s deputies charged 18 years old Sean Elijah Plummer with aggravated burglary, vandalism and three counts of felony assault after he broke into a guest house on Vaughn Road causing about $50,000 in damage and resisted arrest by biting a deputy and throwing antique items from the second floor balcony—he is held on a $51,000 bond with a hearing set for Aug. 25. - ➤ Murfreesboro police are using advanced license plate reader technology to link crimes, make arrests, and help find missing residents, and in Mt. Juliet the system helped stop two felons driving a stolen vehicle—officials say it speeds up investigations even as privacy concerns persist. WGNS

- ➤ Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett – along with the Tennessee Hospital Association and the Tennessee Sheriffs’ Association – is urging parents to request free 'Baby in the Back' car hangtags to help lower the risk of heat-related illnesses and deaths in children during the hot summer months.
