Little Star Farm will host its Blooms Bash U-Pick Flowers event on Saturday, Aug.
1 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 9138 Briley Rd, where visitors can pick flowers, enjoy a bouquet bar and local vendors, plus a BBQ food truck and lemonade (tickets required).

Officials in Rutherford County removed books from local libraries to limit access, drawing criticism from author Lemony Snicket who urged free expression over bans.
A Freedom to Read Celebration featuring him will be held July 18 at The Warehouse in Murfreesboro.

The MTSU Board of Trustees voted Tuesday to choose Korn Ferry for the search for its next president and expects a candidate to be named by Jan.
1 (faculty, staff and students will join focused input groups).
Rutherford County Schools is set to open Poplar Hill Middle School in August and will hold a ribbon cutting and campus tour at 2 p.m., Sunday, July 26 at 3695 Blackman Road in Murfreesboro.
The new middle school will serve about 850 students in grades 6 to 8.

Daphne David is expanding care at Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford.
The hospital reached its 1,000th heart surgery, will add 13 labor and delivery rooms by fall, and opens a new satellite nursery tomorrow (Friday, July 17) along with a new orthopaedic outpatient center.
🏈 Sports
Predators prospect Brady Martin will use a new AHL rule that lets a 19-year-old play next season, allowing him to join the Milwaukee Admirals rather than returning to junior hockey.
This option gives him a chance to build strength and move between leagues as needed.
