- ➤ Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department now operates five Blue List—approved drones and has 20 trained pilots who can launch a drone anywhere in under 12 minutes. - ➤ The Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department launched a new fitness and nutrition program on July 18 to boost firefighter health with a $357,637 federal grant—fuelED Nutrition Coaching and Volunteer Physical Therapy and Performance will provide meal plans, training, and recovery care. - ➤ On July 17, the Murfreesboro City Council voted 6-0 to annex the Middle Point Landfill into city limits so that city staff can enforce codes — including stormwater management, fire inspections, and property maintenance — as the residential area grows nearby.
