- ➤ Today on the WGNS Action Line podcast, host Scott Walker joined city officials to discuss plans to restore Town Creek, a waterway buried since the 1950s beneath downtown. Assistant City Manager Sam Huddleston, Parks & Recreation Director Nate Williams, and Marketing Coordinator Lynn Caldwell explained that the project will create a park-like space to enhance the historic Bottoms area. - ➤ Deputy Miles White of Coffee County was arrested on July 12 around 9 p.m. by Murfreesboro police for charges including public intoxication, resisting stop and assault on a first responder while off duty—he was fired and is set to appear in court on September 9. WGNS
- ➤ A Florida woman reported missing on July 11 was found dead in a Coffee County field behind the Truckers Inn motel near I-24 in Manchester three days later and police are investigating her death as a homicide—authorities ask anyone with information to come forward. WGNS
