- ➤ On Thursday at 10:16 a.m., La Vergne officers responded after their License Plate Reader detected a stolen 2015 Nissan Frontier on West Nir Shreibman Boulevard and pursued the vehicle until it crashed at Murfreesboro Road and Waldron Road, damaging five cars, arresting the driver with active warrants, and critically injuring a passenger who was airlifted. - ➤ Scammers posing as agents from the DEA, FTC, and Treasury tricked a 77-year-old Murfreesboro woman into handing over $55,000 and nearly $38,000 more before police intercepted the scheme and arrested 28-year-old Gurjinder Singh on July 22—authorities charged him with theft over $60,000 and financial exploitation while noting his illegal status. - ➤ Tonya Furness, 41, was arrested on a Davidson County Grand Jury indictment by SID and the LaVergne Police and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the fentanyl death of Carson Gregg, 30, who died on February 8 at his Hermitage home—Furness is also charged with delivering a controlled substance after an alleged drug sale on February 7 in a Nashville market parking lot, with bond set at $100,000.
