Whataburger locations across Middle Tennessee are hosting back-to-school events on Aug.
1; Murfreesboro will offer 100 free backpacks and a burger coupon for school supply donations, while Franklin stages a larger event with 500 backpacks and extra activities & games for kids.
The Murfreesboro Police Department and Parks and Recreation will host National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug.
4 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Patterson Park Community Center (521 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd) with a free evening of Touch-A-Truck exhibits, games, music, and food.

Rix Roundup will offer western swing dance lessons and live music at Harken Hall on Saturday, Aug.
8 — doors open at 5 p.m. with dance instruction from Laynee Day Incorporated and performances by The Jobros and Rick Jobe and the Wonderin’ Cowboys.
🎓 Education
Residents gathered Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon-cutting of Poplar Hill Middle School at 3695 Blackman Road in Murfreesboro.
The $59.9 million, 169,000 sqft facility will serve about 850 students, with orientation on Aug. 7 and full classes starting Aug. 10.

Middle Tennessee single-game tickets went on sale July 24 at Johnny “Red” Floyd Stadium — prices start at $22 for end zone seats and $28 on the sideline for six home games including Faith and Family Night on Sept.
5 and a Tuesday promotion on Oct. 13.
