EDUCATION NEWS

  • MTSU’s LEADS initiative will offer fully funded Ed.S. degrees to 17 math and science teachers from local schools after a recent daylong orientation by the Tennessee STEM Education Center—aiming to boost K-12 data science instruction. MTSU will celebrate 709 graduates at its summer commencement on Aug. 9 starting at 9 a.m. in Hale Arena inside Murphy Center.  The Daily News Journal

  • Today, Smyrna Airport opened its new runway 1/19 with a 5,546-foot asphalt surface and LED lights to boost safety, efficiency, and capacity. The $13 million project—funded by state and local agencies—replaced old pavement and is part of a broader plan to modernize the airport.  Rutherford County Source
