On August 5, 2025 just before noon a pedestrian was hit by a pickup truck at the intersection of Old Fort Parkway and New Salem Highway in front of Thornton’s gas station—authorities closed the inbound lanes on Old Fort Parkway while the person’s condition remains unknown.
