- ➤ Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that followed an attempted break-in on Golden Valley Drive in Christiana on August 16th—when a guest retrieved a handgun as an intruder tried to force entry and several rounds were fired, resulting in one death. WGNS

- ➤ Sidelines staff launches a yearlong editorial project called Sidelines 100 to celebrate 100 years of news, sports and feature coverage at MTSU. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Tennessee law bans drivers from holding a cellphone or sending texts while driving, even at red lights + it allows phone use only when a vehicle is parked or lawfully stopped, so law firms advise using hands-free devices to avoid legal issues. The Daily News Journal

- ➤ MTSU football will use only blue and white uniforms in 2025 to save $500,000, with the funds planned for revenue sharing and better safety gear—such as smart helmets and digitally mapped shoulder pads.
