The Woman’s Club of Murfreesboro held a Legacy Garden Party Saturday evening at the Barrett home to raise funds for renovating the historic Baskette House.
The event celebrated progress with upgrades that will prepare the pre‑Civil War home for future meetings and community events.

Stones River National Battlefield will host Arts in Parks on Saturday, Oct.
17 featuring live music concerts and artillery demonstrations as part of National Arts and Humanities Month. Local visitors can enjoy performances by the Home Sweet Home Band and Two Rivers Fife and Drum — limited seating is available so bring a folding chair or blanket.
Stones River National Battlefield will mark its 100th anniversary this coming March as Friends group hosts a centennial symposium on March 20 featuring historians.
The site, including increased protected land and ongoing tree-planting efforts, remains open daily at 3501 Old Nashville Highway and honors its Civil War heritage.

Serve It Up Pickleball Tournament will benefit The City Schools Foundation as teams compete at Adams Tennis Complex on Oct.
24-25. Each $60 entry, capped at 45 teams, supports local school funding & parity for students.
MTSU football will honor Dolly Parton with a special jersey patch at its home opener on Saturday, Sept.
5 at Floyd Stadium — the patch was unveiled at the Center for Popular Music and one game-worn jersey will be donated there.
