  • The Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department announced promotions for two team members—Josh Warren promoted to captain/paramedic and Justin Dillard promoted to driver engineer—as a recognition of their long service.   • Rutherford County celebrated the groundbreaking of its new Regional Forensic Center in Smyrna on Aug. 26 and plans to open the $15 million facility in early 2027. Former EMS Director Carl Hudgens, ME Supervisor Denise Martin and Mayor Joe Carr thanked county commissioners — noting the center is set to speed up forensic services without raising taxes.  FOX 17

  • The Oakland Patriots improved to 2-0 after winning 49-0 against Huntington in Winchester—Traevon Jackson scored on a fumble return while Joel Wyatt and Kullen Williams made key plays.
