- ➤ Rutherford County officials plan to build a larger jail facility because the current building is overcrowded. - ➤ TDOT is closing lanes and ramps on I-24 in Rutherford County for concrete work that began Friday, September 5 at 9 a.m. and will continue until Sunday, September 7 at noon—crews are extending the deceleration lane and widening the westbound off-ramp as part of a ramp improvement project scheduled to finish in October. - ➤ Deputy Chief Britt Reed ended his 30-year career with the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office on Sept. 2—he introduced key changes like lethality assessments after the domestic violence cases that affected him, including the 1999 case of China Videon.
