- ➤ Middle Tennessee State University’s Board of Trustees welcomed three new members and noted a fall student headcount rise to about 21,000 following strong recruitment efforts—reflected in increased freshman and graduate enrollments—and approved new degree proposals. The university will host political commentator David Brooks at 3 p.m. Sept. 17 in Tucker Theatre for a Constitution Day discussion while free Constitution readings run Monday through Wednesday.
