- ➤ AAA said gas prices in Tennessee fell six cents last week with the average now at $2.78 per gallon; the rate remains four cents higher than one month and one year ago because lower demand and abundant oil supply are expected to ease costs in the near future. Rutherford County Source

- ➤ A review published today by experts from Vanderbilt and Pittsburgh shows that nitazenes, ultra-potent synthetic opioids, are emerging in the illicit drug market and have been linked to 92 fatal overdoses in Tennessee from 2019 to 2023. Clinicians warn that reversing nitazene overdoses may require higher or repeated doses of naloxone & expanded harm-reduction measures to help at-risk patients. WGNS

- ➤ Redshirt senior Juwon Gaston was named CUSA Defensive Player of the Week on Monday after he recorded his first two career interceptions during the win over Nevada—making him the first Blue Raider to get the honor this season and ranking him 1st in CUSA and 6th nationally with .67 interceptions per game.
