- ➤ Rutherford County has many events planned for the weekend including a family fun day at Lucky Ladd Farms—with a corn maze and animal encounters from Sept 20 to Nov 2—a Fall Festival and Parade at La Vergne on Sept 20 at 10 a.m., a Greenway Art Festival in Murfreesboro on Sept 20, and today Public Square hosts Friday Night Live with Backstage Brass from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. while the Nashville Film Festival runs Sept 19 to Sept 21. - ➤ Middle Tennessee offers many fall events where families can pick pumpkins, apples and explore corn mazes — the Rutherford County Farmers' Market Fall Harvest Festival in Murfreesboro is on Sept. 30 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Other nearby venues like Cheekwood and Lucy Ladd Farms add extra autumn fun. - ➤ The National Banana Pudding Festival will take place on Saturday, Oct. 4, and Sunday, Oct. 5, bringing families fun with $10 armbands for inflatables, a National Guard gaming trailer, live music, over 100 vendor booths, and pudding eating contests—new activities join traditional favorites. - ➤ Three state lawmakers announced— a portion of I-24 in Montgomery County is dedicated as the Andre' Hunter Memorial Highway to honor the Murfreesboro native killed in a drunk driving crash in January 2023. - ➤ MTSU and the American Democracy Project hosted Constitution Day at Tucker Theatre where journalist David Brooks discussed political unity and the protection offered by the nation’s founding documents—he stressed how trust in institutions can counter growing divisions.
