- ➤ Rutherford County residents are preparing for fall planting and next year’s harvest as UT-TSU Agricultural Extension Agents host educational sessions at the Lane Agri-Park Farmers Market at 315 John R Rice Blvd every Tuesday and Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. through October 31. Rutherford County Master Gardeners lead hands-on classes that teach local growers how to care for apple, pear and stone fruit trees suited for deep well-drained soil. WGNS

- ➤ A five-year Collective Bargaining Agreement between Beyond New Horizons and the Arnold Engineering Metal Trades Council was ratified on September 18, 2025—featuring a reopener clause after the third year and set to take effect on October 1 to support over 700 craft professionals at Arnold Air Force Base who commute daily from Rutherford County. The contract is expected to bring stability to local households and strengthen the workforce needed by the Air Force mission. WGNS
- ➤ Data from the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development shows that unemployment fell in all 95 counties in August as 90 counties reported rates under 5%.
