Middle Tennessee State University launched QRISE — a center for quantum research and workforce development — in Murfreesboro on October 31.
President Sidney A. McPhee and Center Director Dr. Hanna Terletska said key partners like Oak Ridge National Laboratory supported the initiative, which aims to boost Tennessee's role in the national quantum economy.
Two nursing faculty at Tennessee Tech were honored by the Tennessee Public Health Association for helping more rural families get health care.
Professors Jennifer Mabry and Emily Lee led the CHART project that gives free health screenings to Head Start children—efforts they plan to keep growing.

The Tennessee Historical Commission announced over $1.1 million in federal grant funding to preserve historic sites across the state—Rutherford County will benefit as Middle Tennessee State University received $144,000 in matching grants, with its Department of Sociology and Anthropology getting $8,000 for educational posters and its Fullerton Laboratory awarded $136,000 to provide GIS services over two years. The program covers 60% of project costs while local partners pay the remaining 40%.

Middle Tennessee State University club hockey claimed the No. 1 ranking in ACHA Division III on Friday after a 10-game win streak that began on Sept.
12. The Blue Raiders will travel to Knoxville on Nov. 8 and to Huntsville on Nov. 9 and 10 — marking a historic milestone for the program.
Rutherford County high school teams will start playoff football games on November 7th.
The matchups include Riverdale at Lebanon on WGNS, Oakland against Cookeville, Smyrna at Green Hill, Blackman against Gallatin, Eagleville at McEwen, PCA with a bye, and MTCS against Chattanooga Grace.
