  • The Murfreesboro Ukulele Orchestra will perform at 1:00 p.m. next Saturday at Linebaugh Public Library, playing classic hits and island tunes in the Youth Services Story Room.   • MTSU’s Charlie and Hazel Daniels Veterans and Military Family Center will mark its 10th anniversary on Monday, November 3rd at 9 a.m. in the Keathley University Theater—community leaders including MTSU President Sidney A.   • T. Wayne Williams of Cannon County was elected Southern Region Vice President for the National FFA Organization at the 98th National FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis that ended November 1. Raised on a fourth-generation cattle farm near Murfreesboro — previously serving as Tennessee FFA State President — he said he will use his role to support Tennessee agriculture.  WGNS

  • On Saturday night, a ticket sold at a Publix in Murfreesboro earned its buyer $100,000 after matching four numbers plus the Powerball—while a River Bend ticket in Kingston won $50,000.   • Siegel offensive lineman Princeton Uwaifo, a four-star recruit, committed to Tennessee football after coach Josh Heupel visited him on Oct. 2.
