- ➤ Oaklands Mansion at 900 N. Maney Avenue is set to host several seasonal events this fall and early winter. The 'Last Huzzah' old-time baseball exhibition will take place on November 15 at 11 a.m. at Oaklands Park at 427 Roberts St., and an Annual Christmas Dinner with a pre-party starting at 5:30 p.m. will be held on December 5, with the 42nd Annual Candlelight Tour of Homes scheduled on December 13 from 4 to 8 p.m.—tickets cost $30 for adults, $10 for students and free for children 5 and under. - ➤ On November 6, MTSU President Sidney A. McPhee met with SGA senators and freshmen to address his contract status, the renaming of Forrest Hall, dorm issues like black mold, and a rise in food pantry demand. He explained that DEI programs were removed due to state law, detailed support for international students facing visa challenges, and urged greater attendance at sports events—clarifying how these issues are being managed. - ➤ On Tuesday November 11th at 11:00 a.m., residents will gather at the Rutherford County Courthouse on the historic square for the 30th Annual Veterans Day Memorial Service. Desert Storm veteran David Weill and 2025 Miss Tennessee Zoe Scheiderich will speak as the event—organized by local leaders and broadcast on YouTube—honors veterans. WGNS

- ➤ The Riverdale High School Warriors won a 28-7 game over the Blue Devils in the TSSAA 6A playoffs — sophomore Jacob Vaughn rushed for 247 yards and scored two touchdowns. Riverdale will play Maryville High School on Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. EDT. MTSU Sidelines
- ➤ Middle Tennessee hosted FIU for its annual Salute to Service game at Floyd Stadium on November 8th. The Blue Raiders, on a five game losing streak and winless in Conference USA (with records of 1 to 7 overall and 0 to 4 in conference play), aimed to earn their first conference win while FIU tried to bounce back after two losses. - ➤ Middle Tennessee State football will face rival Western Kentucky on November 15 at Bowling Green to try to end a six-game losing streak and avoid a winless home season as well as a winless conference record. The Blue Raiders have not beaten Western Kentucky since 2018—coach Derek Mason said a win would boost team confidence and help sharpen their play. The Daily News Journal
- ➤ The Blue Raiders won 109-56 when they beat Webster University on Nov. 8 at the Murphy Center. Coach Nick McDevitt said the team focused on rebounds and teamwork— and they will play Evansville on Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. MTSU Sidelines
